National Knife Day Deals at KnivesShipFree

Today’s the day: it’s better than Christmas, better than Halloween, better than Thanksgiving: National Knife Day, a holiday dedicated to our favorite edged tool. And of course, all the shops have promotions going on, including our good friends over at KnivesShipFree. There are too many specials to list in a comprehensive manner, but as usual we wanted to highlight a few we think are particularly tasty.

Spyderco Edgerati

One of the highlights of National Knife Day is the one day only discounts on a whole bunch of Spyderco knives. The company is famously very strict when it comes to the price of their pieces, but they loosen the reins for the big day so, if you’ve had your eye on any Spydies lately, today may be the best price you’re likely to seer while.

We could talk about any number of models, but we chose the Edgerati because it seems to be a bit of a hidden gem. This is a new design from the master Sal Glesser himself – what could be cooler than that? Maybe fact that its sportscar-inspired super-skeletonized frame makes this mid-size knife lightweight and maneuverable?

Spyderco Titanium Frame Lock Tenacious

We sometimes feel like the Tenacious, which was a huge deal when it first came out, has kind gotten lost in the shuffle over the years. But the fact remains that this Eric Glesser piece is just cool and a joy to use – and it’s never been cooler than in this blue ano titanium frame lock variation, now obtainable for less than $100.

Benchmade Adamas

Benchmade is the co-headliner for this year’s NKD deals, and we’ve got a couple of picks from their offerings as well. First up is the Adamas, a legendary stalwart in the Blue Butterfly’s lineup that emblematizes the tenets of what used to be called Black Class – a designation allotted to Benchmade’s dedicate tactical/special use model pieces. This thing’s a handful in the best possible way.

Benchmade Shootout $100 Off

There is something timelessly cool about Benchmade’s OTF knives, but, as many a would-be owner knows, sometimes the price to entry for these models can be prohibitive. While the Shootout isn’t cheap by any means, it is considerably more affordable than many Benchmade OTFs – and further discounted for National Knife Day as well.

Kershaw Livewire for $199

And if you buy one OTF, why not add a second to your cart? No judgment here. Might we recommend the Kershaw Livewire? The version on sale today even sports a blade made from one of the true darlings of the metallurgical world, CPM MagnaCut. Fun fact that we may not have mentioned before about the Livewire: it was a collaboration piece between Kershaw and custom maker Matt Diskin!
