Chiappa SA 1873 Black Thunder
Chiappa is giving a classic revolver a modern makeover with the 1873 Black Thunder. At its core, it’s still an M1873 Single Action Army, but it’s been given a bunch of practical upgrades to help bring it into the 21st century. Chambered for .44 Magnum and available with either a 5.5- or 7.5-inch barrel, the most notable modern features on the Black Thunder include its top-mounted Picatinny rail for optics, its fiber- optic front and rear iron sights and its oversized Hogue rubber grip to help tame recoil. Other changes include its tensioned steel inner barrel/aluminum outer sleeve barrel system and the geometry of its fluted cylinder, both designed to reduce weight. The trigger guard has been enlarged as well for easier use with gloves.

Primary Arms PLx 1.5-12×36 Compact
If you need a scope with big capability in a small package, you need to check out Primary Arms’ new PLx 1.5-12×36 FFP RDB. Built with top-tier extra-low dispersion Japanese ED glass, the scope combines a 1.5-12 magnification range with Red Dot Bright diffractive reticle technology, allowing you to take effective shots across a wide spread of ranges. The 36mm objective lenses are multi-coated to reduce chromatic aberration, enhance light gathering in low-light conditions and improve the eye box at every magnification. Proof Research PXT Barrels
Proof Research is calling their new PXT barrels “a new era of rifle barrel technology,” and it’s hard to disagree. PXT stands for Proof Exponential Twist, because unlike traditional barrels that use constant-twist rifling, PXT barrels feature a progressively changing twist profile that’s designed to reduce initial bullet stress, maintain rotational stability and meet the demands of modern, high-pressure rifle ammo. Proof says the new barrels will also increase barrel life, improve consistency and enhance performance. The new PXT barrels are being offered as bolt action blanks, AR barrels and select pre-fit offerings with more options on the way. You can also get a PXT barrel in a factory-built Proof Elevation FDX or MTR rifle in a variety of chambering options.

When it comes to a suppressor’s efficacy, bigger is better, and there’s no way around that. CZ 75 Legend
The CZ 75 truly is a legendary pistol. Ruger LCP MAX ReadyDot
Ruger is offering a quick, easy and inexpensive way to upgrade your LCP MAX’s shootability with a new ReadyDot model. This micro-reflex sight uses a fiber-illuminated reticle, so no batteries are needed. While that helps keep things nice and simple, it also means that it won’t work in complete darkness. Everything’s a tradeoff when it comes to design, but for most daylight or indoor lighting conditions, the ReadyDot will definitely help you make better hits with a gun as small as the LCP MAX. One important sidenote is that this ReadyDot is not compatible with LCP MAX models that feature a loaded chamber indicator.

Ideally, we’d all train with the same ammo that we carried in our defensive handguns, but that would be very expensive. The next best way to get a relatively similar recoil impulse between your training and defensive ammo is to use the same bullet weight, but defensive 9mm ammo is often 124-grain or heavier.
