NFL fans react to Netflix host Elle Duncan’s gloves, NFL Big Js were wrong & Michael Irvin’s insane hair

This morning, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember those we lost and of course we never forget what that day meant to this country. I want to start this morning with a story that most of us have watched over and over again – The Man in the Red Bandana.

Welles Crowther was the same age on 9/11 as many of us reading Screencaps. He was 24. Born in 1977. Fresh out of college. He was working in the South Tower on that day when United 175 rammed into the building. Instead of saving himself and making his way down the one safe stairway, Crowther decided to save others.

“Everyone who can stand, stand now. If you can help others, do so,” survivor Judy Wein remembered Crowther saying.

9/11 HERO WELLES CROWTHER’S FIREHOUSE PRESIDENT REVEALS WHAT SHAPED THE ‘MAN IN THE RED BANDANA’

I like to think Screencaps readers have a little bit of Welles in them.

We talk here quite often about taking pride in property, helping others and community. May we never forget Welles and the others who accepted the challenge on that day, and continue to take on challenges to make this country the best place to call home in the world. We’re all beyond fortunate.

9/11 IS BECOMING HISTORY. MY GENERATION MUST MAKE SURE AMERICA NEVER FORGETS

Elle Duncan always tries so hard

Netflix has a market cap of something like $320 BILLION, yet it acts like it has to be a startup. From Elle Duncan’s OJ-like gloves to having Roger Goodell put on a kangaroo coat, the Netflix broadcasts feel so cheap. So contrived. So desperate.

“She looks like she’s ready to de-bone a Costco roast chicken,” a Screencaps reader observed this morning.

Couldn’t have put it any better myself.

Someone has to step in here and say no gloves. The gloves look dumb. They’re a look-at-me ploy where Elle will now say people are picking on her over her gloves. Just watch.

And then there’s the kangaroo coat. Why? For money? Goodell himself was recently estimated to be worth nearly a BILLION himself. Just imagine what’s coming when the NFL goes to Japan. Goodell sumo wrestling?

Are tweakers bringing down Chipotle?

– Tom in Clarksville, TN has thoughts on AI and the tweakers: Just a quick note to the best community on the internet. Always be wary of the tweet from the unknown kid from the company who is actively asking to be regulated by the government. The CEO of that company has now come out and added to the fear by saying they cannot predict the future, but all white-collar jobs are going to disappear in the next year or two.

If this technology is going to kill us all, why can’t it predict the future? Fear is an interesting emotion, this group of nerds straight out of central casting for a D&D movie are not Hollywood screen writers, but they understand fear is a great motivator. Anyone who has run a business knows you dont want the government to step in and run it. You especially dont want government to step in be the arbiters of superintelligence. More and more is coming out about this every day, the internet will suss this out, and we will discover what is really behind all of this. This is just my take, be wary of the guys with the very distinct hair styles. Start with the FTX guy, Karp, Aschenbrenner, Amodei, Altman…

Also, since we dont know the future, I think Chipotle is on the way out with Wendy’s…Lots of tweakers in there, I always get the same thing, and the price is never the same. Wonder what your readers think.

Kinsey: I’m in Chipotle maybe once every 3-4 months. I don’t really notice. There’s a brand new Qdoba right down the road that is super clean and they give you like three scoops of protein. That’s our go-to.

Spread a little sunshine

– CF in Kansas says: Loved Phil S. in Florida and his positive attitude.  Like Phil, I make it a point to smile at people.  I also try to find something about them to compliment.  I once told a young man at the drive thru he had a great radio voice!  It’s amazing what a difference it makes in their demeanor, especially if they have to deal with customers all day.  It only takes a moment or two, costs nothing, and you may just make a person’s day!  It also reminds you to always look for the best in people.
